After your pool was installed you may have noticed foam where the coping meets the pool deck. This is called the expansion joint. This should be filled with a specialized flexible sealant that allows the pool to move with the ground as it contracts and expands in weather. If there was no expansion joint, the edges of your pool would crack, the coping would loosen and tiles would pop off.
Expansion joints also prevent water from slipping down behind the swimming pool structure
For these reasons, it’s important to inspect the expansion joints from time to time. If you notice cracking or the caulking breaking away from the coping or cement deck, new caulk should be applied over these areas.
We will inspect and re-caulk when needed. Prices may vary based on linear feet.
